Message i originally thought this was a well understood idea.

well, i don't know if VW and BMW are raising the compression simply to get a faster spooling turbo. maybe it's to make slower spool up to make better driveability in the bottom end? i don't know and that was mainly a rhetorical question.

but that direct injection must definitely help with keeping the A/F ratios where they want it. when is someone going to come up with cylinders for the Z32 that supports that? and i have a question, does nissan have any motors with DI? i don't even think the VR38 in the GTR has them.
